Year Two at Peak Wildlife Park

Year Two had a lovely day yesterday at Peak Wildlife Park. We learned about habitats and how animals have adapted to the environment. We also looked at African animals and went into the African village to understand what life is like for people in Zambia.

Forces in Year Five

Since the beginning of term, Year Five have been working very hard increasing their knowledge on forces. They have planned their own investigations for air resistance and water resistance as well as sharing their results digitally.

Reception: The story of Diwali

This afternoon, Reception recreated the story of Rama and Sita exploring in the woods. They had a fantastic time and even made up their own Diwali song, accompanied by a range of musical instruments. Fantastic Reception.

Reception: Out of this World Art 

This week Reception have been exploring a new art technique, marbling! The children loved choosing particular colours to represent the planets in our solar system. They, then mixed them up before carefully placing their blotting paper on top. We think they look amazing!

Micro habitats in Year Two

The children have been learning all about micro habits in Science. They investigated two different micro habits before attempting to create their own for a woodlouse. They gathered what they thought would attract the woodlouse before heading back inside, building it and placing a woodlouse into its new home.

After looking at the nutritional data on food packaging, the children collected data on the fat and sugar content. They presented the data collected in bar charts and then drew conclusions from their findings.
