Nursery explore shapes!

This week we have been learning about shapes, we have been searching for shapes in the environment, sorting shapes and talking about their properties and using shapes to create different types of transport. Fantastic work Nursery!

Special places in Reception

This half term in RE we are focusing on special places. The children went on a treasure hunt to find jigsaw pieces which, when put together , make a picture of Mrs Ashton’s special place at school. Can you guess where it is?

Gymnastics in Nursery

We have enjoyed showing off our fantastic gymnastic skills in PE this week, we completed a sequence of jumping off the apparatus, followed by a roll and finally finishing with a posh pose! Fantastic work Nursery!

Reception’s Church Treasure Hunt

As part of their learning on Christianity and Easter, Reception went on a treasure hunt around the local church. They had to find several features such as a font, pulpit and candles. They had great fun exploring and enjoyed seeing some of the artefacts that we had been learning about in class.

Artist of the Term in Reception

This term, Reception have been learning about the French artist, Cezanne. We looked at lots of his different paintings and especially liked his fruit bowl, as it linked to our story of the week, Handa’s Surprise. We have created our own interpretation of the fruit bowl using pastels.
