Year One have been using atlases, globes and maps today to locate where they live in the world 🌎 They’ve learned that we are part of Europe, as well as the United Kingdom, as well as England, as well as Stoke-On-Trent! 🏴 They used the atlas to zoom in further and find out the four countries and capitals of the UK and talked about what they were like (busy cities where the government worked rather than green fields!), labelled them on their own map 🗺 and then played a speedy pointing game, pretending to be teachers, locating the different countries and capitals on the map. Absolutely amazing work Year One – this is so tricky to remember but you all worked very hard! Why not quiz your parents on the names of the different places tonight?! 🤔
