It’s okay to be different!

Mrs Rushton led an assembly today as it is World Autism Awareness Week! She talked to the children about autism and how many people experience the world differently, and talked about how it’s okay to be different! We learned about how different sensory experiences – like loud noises or strong smells – can affect people differently and the children were very mature when talking about how they can support each other in school and show compassion towards all of their friends and peers in school – well done Hillside! And most importantly, as ever we talked about just being kind and the children now have a challenge to complete kind acts in and out of school and can choose a different act from Mrs Rushton’s room every day if they wish!
