Dinosaur bone investigations in Reception

This week we have been talking about famous landmarks in London and in particular, the National History Museum. Some of the children knew that there was a large dinosaur skeleton on display there. This led on to us reading the story ‘Stone Girl, Bone Girl’, which is a story about a little girl called Mary Anning, who lived over 300 years ago. Mary was a very well known fossil hunter who became famous for discovering the skeleton of a prehistoric fish- lizard. The children were fascinated with the story and enjoyed comparing life then to now.
